They vary in color from light tan to brown. Jute braided rugs date back to earliest days of rug making. Many of the contemporary designs are rooted in this ancient tradition of rug making.

"A lovely all-over diamond pattern, and very soft and comforting to bare feet. I never knew jute rugs could be so elegant! And to learn that jute is naturally fire-resistant (potentially helping to slow down or inhibit the spread of an accidental fire) is icing on the cake. The rug might come with random bits of twig interwoven in the carpet; just gently pick these out, and no harm is done to the rug. The quality seems to be quite good for the price. The edges are nice and clean, not jagged, like some natural fiber rugs. Great value."

"This rug is excellent, and the only one I can have in my home. It's over my porcelain tiles in the living room. The texture of the jute fools my naughty cat into thinking it's not really a rug....he has a nasty little habit. That's why I have tile throughout! I've had it since last Spring, and not one accident all this time. Wish I could afford them for every room in my rather large home. Why not close the rooms off to Kitty? Because he owns the place, I just pay for it."
